OUR HOMES
Helena’s House operates community residences in Prince George’s County, Maryland, designed to feel like home while meeting high standards for safety, accessibility, and 24/7 support.
OVERVIEW
Each Helena’s House residence is a licensed home within a residential neighborhood. Homes are intentionally small so staff can know each person well and support them in a calm, predictable environment.
Furnishings, décor, and daily routines are designed to feel like a family home. Staff support residents in making their rooms personal and comfortable, and families are welcomed as active partners.
We emphasize stable staffing, clear routines, and consistent expectations so that residents know what to expect each day, which helps many people feel calmer and safer.
OUR LOCATIONS
While specific addresses are shared during the admissions process, most Helena’s House residences are located in quiet, established neighborhoods with access to stores, parks, and major roadways.
A single-family home in a quiet cul-de-sac, featuring private and shared bedrooms, an accessible main level, and a fenced backyard used for cookouts and outdoor activities.
A two-level home with a large, open kitchen and dining space designed for shared meals, holiday celebrations, and staff-supported cooking activities.
Living rooms are set up for relaxation and social time—TV, music, conversation, and small group activities that match residents’ interests and sensory needs.
SAFETY & ACCESSIBILITY
Each home is licensed and monitored to meet state standards. We also work with families, therapists, and medical providers to make reasonable accommodations for mobility, sensory, and behavioral needs.
Residents are encouraged to personalize their bedrooms with décor, photos, and items that make the space feel truly theirs. Staff help maintain a safe, organized environment while respecting privacy and personal preferences.
Room assignments and roommate pairings (when sharing) are made thoughtfully, considering individual needs, sleep patterns, and compatibility.
SERVICE AREA
Our homes are located within driving distance of major hospitals, clinics, and community resources. During the admissions process, we’ll discuss which home may be the best fit based on the person’s needs, preferences, and current openings.
A simple map or graphic can be placed here in the future (embedded Google Map or static image) to show approximate locations and service area. For now, this space highlights that homes are spread across Prince George’s County.
Tours are typically coordinated with families, guardians, and coordinators of community services once we’ve confirmed eligibility and potential openings.
